I developed a full-stack bulk SMS management platform for a coaching center, designed to simplify communication with students, guardians, and other contacts at scale.
The system allows administrators to create and manage individual contacts and organize them into active or inactive groups. Messages can be sent directly to individual contacts or broadcast to an entire group from a centralized messaging interface.
One of the key features is dynamic messaging. Administrators can create a message template using predefined placeholders such as {contact_name} or {guardian_name}. When the message is sent to multiple recipients, the system automatically replaces each placeholder with the corresponding contact’s information, allowing personalized messages to be delivered in bulk without manually creating each message.
The platform also includes an event-based messaging system for planned communications. Administrators can create an event, select a target group, define a message template, and add custom placeholders when additional contact-specific information is required. The system processes the placeholder data and generates personalized messages for each recipient.
An integrated SMS API handles message delivery, while the delivery report (DLR) provides visibility into message status and delivery results.
The platform was built with React, Node.js, TypeScript, Express.js, Sequelize, and MySQL, with the backend handling contact management, group operations, message processing, dynamic template replacement, event logic, API communication, and delivery tracking.
